Aix-en-Provence
To quote Sammy’s journal from today: this morning we “Aix-en-Provenced”. What this actually means is that we walked the old town, went into a few stores and had a lovely lunch on a patio (yes, a PATIO on Feb 2). Then we went to Oxylane – which is essentially a haven for everything sporting: basketball courts, horseback riding, climbing wall, indoor soccer, full service spa, restaurants, physiotherapists, fitness centre, outdoor play areas, bouncy castles, golf course, skating rink, mini-putt, Segway rentals, garden centre, cycle/scooter test track… and an 80,000 sq foot sporting goods store – Decathlon!) There are several of these around France and we have never seen anything like it – much of it was closed on a Monday in February, so we will definitely go back when things are hopping!
