We stood on the Earth’s equator! We had been in the Southern hemisphere for a few days but hadn’t had the chance to straddle this special geographic line. And during a visit to an interpretive centre we witnessed that indeed the water flows down the drain in the opposite direction when south of the equator. And when standing directly on top of the line? It just… falls straight down the drain!

On a enjambé l’équateur! On était dans l’hémisphère sud depuis notre arrivée dans ce bien-nommé pays mais on n’avait pas eu l’opportunité d’être SUR l’équateur. C’est maintenant chose faite! Et on a pu voir que oui, l’eau tourne en sens opposé selon qu’on soit du côté sud ou nord de la ligne. Et si on est directement au-dessus?? L’eau tombe tout droit!
