We went to Parco di Pinocchio in Collodi, and learned that the original story was quite different than the one Walt Disney came up with! No mention of Pinocchio’s nose growing when telling lies, for one thing. I know we’re going back around 40 years, but I can’t remember him planting coins to make a money-tree grow, or ending up in the stomach of a fish – the same fish that had swallowed Geppetto a few days earlier!

On n’y mentionne pas le nez ajustable selon les mensonges, entre autres. Et, je sais qu’on remonte 40 ans en arrière, mais je ne me rappelle pas que Pinocchio essayait de faire pousser des arbres-à-argent, ni qu’il se soit retrouvé à l’intérieur d’un poisson – le même poisson qui avait avalé Geppetto quelques jours auparavant!
