Santons are little clay figurines depicting traditional scenes from Provence. There was a foire aux santons in a nearby village so we made our way there. I spent most of my time chatting with the locals – when they hear my accent they instantly know I’m from Canada (that and the fact that Mich and the kids were all wearing Canada sweatshirts) and they want to know what we’re doing around these parts! The rest of my crew enjoyed the various santons scenes, and we bought a few so now there are santons in Sauve.

Les santons sont des figurines en argile représentant très souvent des crèches, mais aussi des scènes typique de la vie traditionnelle en Provence. Il y avait un salon du santon dans un village proche d’ici, alors on y est allés en cette journée pluvieuse. Évidemment, les gens ont immédiatement reconnu mon accent, donc j’ai passé mon temps à placoter! Ma tribu en a profité pour fouiner, et il y a maintenant des santons à Sauve!
